‘Textural Percussion Vol. 1 - 5’ were released in October 2018 through September 2019.

The ‘Textural Percussion’ series of sample packs were created and prouced for the license-free sample browsing site Sounds powered by Native Instruments. These sound packs focus on percussive one-shot hits made entirely from field recordings captured in various locations around New York City and San Francisco.

The sounds were recorded by banging on various objects and everyday materials and then edited to be playable with a sampler or keyboard. Every sound was recorded using the Zoom H2N recorder set to Mid-Side to create a true stereo image of the audio. The inspiration for these sample packs was to explore the limitless sonic potential of our everyday surroundings and to employ Musique Concrete type processes for composition and sound creation.
